Nematostella vectensis Genomic Assembly & Predicted Proteins

This page contains links to an assembly of the Nematostella Genome constructed using publicly available shotgun sequence traces generated by the DOE Joint Genome Institute (JGI) using the Phusion genome assembler and Nematostella predicted proteins. The assembly is described in methods section of Ryan et al. 2006 and details of the predicted data found on StellaBase can be found in Sullivan et al. 2006. Our assembly and subsequent predicted proteome was made independent of the JGI, who has subsequently released their own assembly: available here. It should be mentioned that the JGI assembly has significantly fewer gaps and that our assembly contain some vector contamination.
